Essential skills

Understanding of strict typing, OOP patterns, and modern language features
Practical experience with PSR-15 middleware, PSR-7 HTTP messages and Dependency Injection
Awareness of web application security concerns
Debugging code using Xdebug
Mastery of dependency injection, decoupling techniques, and clean code principles
Proficiency in writing automated tests using PHPUnit and its native mocking framework
Raw SQL writing skills
Experience with templating system and separating view logic from PHP backend processes (preferably Smarty)
Understanding of CSS, JS and HTML
Git – commit, merge, rebase, deal with conflicts
