Philippines’ Hiring Landscape in June 2025: foundit Insights Tracker 

Overview of Hiring Activity 

The foundit Insights Tracker in the Philippines showed a 14% year-on-year increase in hiring in June 2025. However, month-on-month demand dropped 13%, indicating a short-term slowdown after sustained growth—suggesting strategic recalibration amidst changing business needs. 

Hiring Trends by Industry (YoY numbers) 

7 out of 13 industries reported annual growth in hiring. 

In Demand: 

  • Health Care (+21%), BFSI (+16%), and Hospitality & Travel (+16%) led the rebound, supported by rising demand for services, tourism, and financial products. 
  • Engineering, Construction and Real Estate (+6%) and  IT, Telecom/ISP (+5%) also showed steady year-on-year gains. 

Facing Challenges: 

  • Retail (-25%), Education (-24%), and Media & Entertainment (-2%) continued to see contractions, while BPO/ITES (-1%) remained nearly flat, indicating sectoral saturation or role redistribution. 

Hiring Trends by Functional Area (YoY numbers) 

6 out of 10 functional areas posted annual growth. 

In Demand: 

  • Purchase/Logistics/Supply Chain (+18%) led growth, driven by operational streamlining. 
  • IT (+10%), Engineering & Real Estate (+10%), and Customer Service (+7%) remained stable performers. 

Facing Challenges: 

  • Sales Business Development (-14%) and HR & Admin (-24%) saw continued hiring declines, as businesses recalibrated frontline and support functions.
